Stories that change how we see
When Stanford LEAD Story Club invited me to give a keynote, they asked what kind of story I wanted to tell.
“I’m going to need some guidance,” I said. “I’ve lived 100 lives and have thousands of stories.” They laughed. It’s true though.
My life has taken me across industries, cultures, and disciplines, from film and television to deep-tech startups, publishing, social impact, and leadership in four countries. I’ve been a CEO, an Emmy-winning editor, a global community builder, an audience intelligence specialist, an ally skills facilitator, and even an Aotearoa New Zealand tramping guide.
Each life taught me something different.
Together, I learned to see connections that aren't always obvious.
From many worlds, one perspective
I tell stories from the overlaps.
Sometimes I draw on screen and publishing to explore how we decide what stories matter.
Sometimes I explore what it means to lead into an uncertain future, informed by having built an ethical deep-tech company before AI went public and ethics were off the table.
Sometimes the story is about migration, identity, or belonging.
The subject changes. The underlying question is often the same:
What are we missing by looking at the world the same way?
I've spoken in Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Auckland, and around the world on leadership, audience intelligence, storytelling, technology, publishing, and inclusion.
My experience includes work with Disney, Nickelodeon, All3Media, and the world's largest publishing houses; editing the Emmy-winning series Rūrangi; co-founding and leading AI company Narrative Muse; and being recognized by IRCAI Global's Top 100 for advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through AI.
With roots in the US and over two decades based in New Zealand, I bring a global perspective built on living and working across the US, New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.
