I’m currently developing Narrative Muse – a website that showcases the storytellers behind women-driven literature and cinema. After 11 years of editing film and TV, I’ve come to recognise that women’s voices are missing from popular media. I’m working with a collection of others to change that picture.
ABOUT
Although originally from the United Sates, I’ve lived in New Zealand since 2003. After glimpsing this treasure island, I knew I wasn’t going anywhere.
I have most recently edited the TV2 comedy Step Dave and TV3’s comedy-drama Westside. Prior to these shows, I worked on a number of other New Zealand and American television series and documentary films. In 2013, I led a team to create Romp Project, an event-based organisation for the Auckland queer community. In 2009, I did extensive research for a documentary film in remote regions of Peru and Ecuador. In 2006, I was a project manager for e-Blended Learning Solutions Ltd, developing an online professional course for broadcast satellite engineers.
I have a BA with honors in Film and Digital Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz. I also studied Spanish history and literature at the University of Cordoba, Spain.
Today I can be found at just about any creative gathering. I love taking portraits of my friends and their children. Drawing illustrations makes me happy. And I’m prone to a pretty fantastic cup of tea.
